Beaufort is a historical city in South Carolina. It was chartered in 1711 and it is the second-oldest city in South Carolina. Charleston is first and many of those old wills are found on South Carolina Pioneers
Beaufort is located on the old, historical Port Royal Island which was fortified with English soldiers in the early 1700s and saw some pretty famous pirates, like Blackbeard, off its shores.
