Zachariah Bell of Union County

In 1787 Zachariah Bell applied for a license to keep a tavern but he had to give his bond. That same year rates for beverages served in taverns were changed. Jamaican rum, 9 shs 4 pence per gallon, with West India rum slightly lower. The taverns were serving rum, raffia, maderia wine, port wine, claret and breakfast.
